Sapling

A digital product is an artifact of a team behind it. Building a good product means gathering a strong team and empowering them.

Sharing the idea for the People App, I planted a seed, and now it is growing into a sapling. It might become a tree and bear fruit. If we are very lucky, it may grow into a forest.

We were already extremely lucky in finding fertile soil. Now the idea does not belong to me anymore; it is out there in our collective, with team members taking parts of its DNA and developing it into concrete features.

We are growing so fast that I have moments of disbelief. It is less than a month from nothing, just a crude drawing to a working prototype on my iPhone, an emerging scalable backend, and a team of seven people building the product and the company.

This transition: from an idea in the head of one person to an idea in the heads of many to an organization that makes the idea a reality is beautiful.

I think the main difference between an established company and a startup is just how present the startup is: completely mobilized, perceptive, and adapting to a new environment. Exactly like a sapling. The seed had a bit of resources stored, and these are what are fueling our growth now. Soon we will see what we can gather from our environment.

In our case, we are looking to raise a pre-seed. Already, eight investors reached out when we changed our roles on LinkedIn to Co-Founders. The fundraising begins!

Next, we will be applying to Y Combinator and a16z Speedrun, lets us know of any other worthwhile accelerator programs!

Our journey continues. Join the waiting list today to become a Founding Member. We are designing lifetime perks for the first 300 joining now.
