We are building a social medium where connections are intentional and deep.
Our go-to-market strategy is communities. We align ourselves with founders, product managers, designers, marketers, researchers, engineers, educators, and others. We are here for peeps who care about mental health, sustainability, entrepreneurship, design thinking, facilitation, community, and more.
We care about communities because we are community organizers. Ilya is hosting UX Meetup in Hong Kong for a decade. He is a co-host of EdTechHK and active in FounderCircleHK and MoveMen! We are building a product for us and for our communities.
Over the years, we tried Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, and Facebook for running our communities online and always faced the same issues.
We want people on the platform to be verified real people introduced by somebody we know.
We want people to feel welcomed and be able to share without overwhelming others.
We want the community to work for both people who have time to read every message and for many who are too busy with other things.
We want to avoid disasters when a community space loses focus and becomes a dump for promotional posts or irrelevant topics.
We want us, organizers, to feel supported by the platform. Moderation is such a thankless work.
Most of all, we want our communities to flourish with meaningful introductions, on-topic sharing, and a great vibe.
At People App, we are step-by-step addressing all of these and empowering communities.
We are intentionally invitation-only and real people-only platform.
Our community board is designed to provide space for everyone, while also giving an easy way to report unwanted (offensive, irrelevant, or boring) posts: swipe left and you will never see it again.
The Peeps AI can catch you up on what is happening in a community or connect you with individual posts on demand.
The moderation system is powered by both members and AI so that it is easy for moderators to make decisions and avoid getting overwhelmed.
In the end, it is all about the quality of connections. We designed every aspect of the app for connection over content. We have no vitality on the platform, no algorithm hijacking your attention, no advertisers to please with engagement metrics.
