Building

I shared a lot of thoughts about the People App over three weeks. This sharing led to David, Daniel, Adnan, and Vimbai joining the team. Two more people are considering it.

Now we are very busy building what was just a dream. I’m very grateful and super excited to make People App a reality with this team.

We are working on a few things in parallel: scalable backend, AI infrastructure, iOS/iPadOS, and Android apps. Our work is powered by AI and it is speeding up our progress immensely.

The first version of the iOS app demo I built in a week using Cursor. I ran out of fast model credits three times, but we got quite a convincing demo with people, posts, chats, and AI capabilities working live and in the hands of our users.

With the demo, we got the first real user feedback and, of course, they found out how to crash our app in the first 24 hours.

Meanwhile, David and Daniel worked on the backend and better AI orchestration. And now we are ready to bring it all together. Next week will be all about integration.

Building fast means that you are learning fast: we are already far from the original sketches and Figma prototype. What is emerging is true to our intent, but quite a different experience. Building a demo helped me to see the ideas in action and with AI, what I would normally prototype in Figma, I was building with code and testing live. The iteration cycle shortened from weeks to days.

We are hearing a lot from users and learning about their needs. It is one of my favorite things now: every conversation becomes a brainstorm about the People App. We are building for the fundamental need of genuine connection – this makes our pitch somewhat generic, but empowering us with daily examples of what we are solving for.

With People App, we are taking on an immense challenge. There are obviously a lot of apps addressing the same needs. What drives us is the clear realization that the problem is not solved yet. To be real, no one app will ever solve it completely, but we believe we can do our part and empower people to connect as never before: in high-trust networks augmented with artificial intelligence.

We believe we can help you to know your people like never before. This is why we opened the shop as Know Your People Inc. and started to raise capital to build the People App at the scale it deserves.
